Visit Denver!

Updated on June 5, 2014

Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is a sophisticated metropolis blending its Old West roots with modern day adventures and events. A city of many cultures, Denver is the third fastest growing state of the last decade. To meet that demand Denver offers easy accessibility through Denver International Airport, the fifth busiest in the U.S.

The Denver metro offers a total of 37,000 hotel rooms, but its hotel boom continues with five new hotel projects announced for downtown adding another 2,000 rooms to the already available 5,300. Accommodations in downtown Denver range from hotel chains like the new 1,100-room Hyatt Regency Denver directly across from the Colorado Convention Center to the Grand Hyatt Denver or the Westin Tabor Center; the historic Brown Palace or Oxford Hotel; and intimate historic B&Bs like Capitol Hill Mansion or the Gregory Inn.

Unlike other Western cities, Denver has a thriving central downtown area. Here, within easy walking distance is the performing arts complex, and a wide variety of shops, department stores, more than 2,000 restaurants, and night spots. As the beer brewing capital, Colorado produces more beer than any other state, including the breweries of Coors and Anheuser Busch, and its numerous micro-breweries and brew pubs are within walking distance of each other downtown.

With over 300 days of sunshine a year, outdoor activities flourish in the nation's largest city park system, 90 golf courses, an incredible 650 miles of paved bike trails, more than 200 parks and dozens of tree-lined boulevards.

Downtown offers visitors the opportunity to discover some of the city’s top attractions like shopping and dining experiences at the Denver Pavilions located on the 16th Street Mall--the famous mile-long pedestrian promenade, Larimer Square, The Shops at Tabor Center, and Lower Downtown (LoDo). A short drive from downtown, entertainment abound at Six Flags Elitch Gardens Theme Park, Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and the Denver Zoo.
